Phillies Charities recently posted the sale date/time for tickets to the 2012 Phillies Phestival.  This year's Phestival will be held on July 26th, and to be there you'll need to buy your tickets soon after they go on sale at 9 am on June 11th.

Details on player appearances, and photo booths have not yet been announced, but I can guarantee the annual event will be one of the best times of the season to get autographs and memorabilia from the this year's team.  While there is no guarantee you will get any one particular player's autograph with a little luck you will probably end up with several great ones.  There are also a few games like "Mystery Grab Bag" and "Every Roll is a Winner" that often yield some great collectibles.

According to the Phillies Charities website, first event was held in 1984 and has raised more than $12 million for The ALS Association, Greater Philadelphia Chapter's patient services and research.  It is definitely a great event for an even greater purpose.  For more information on the Phestival, or Phillies Charities, visit their page: Phillies Phestival.

Update:
Several people contacted me on Twitter to ask about price, and general set up of the Phestival.  It has changed a lot over the years as the team has improved, and added higher profile players.  From the best of my recollection, last season the tickets cost $25.

That price got you admission, and two autograph booths.  Each autograph booth usually features 2 (some may have three) members of the team.  In recent years the bigger name players like Howard, Utley, Rollins, Lee and Hamels have all been solo.  You are assigned booths at random and will not know who is at those booths until you arrive at CBP.

Over the years, one of the best parts of the night have been when the booths are opened up to attendees who do not have a ticket (for that particular booth).  For a $10 cash donation you can get a player to sign any item you have brought.  Last season, for example, they opened Cliff Lee's booth to cash buyers and I was able to get him to sign a SS OMLB, '09 World Series team ball and a '09 World Series lithograph - for $10 each.  You may have to work a little, and wait in lines - but, it does pay off.

  1. Matt - last year I was about an hour late calling and the tickets sold out. Any suggestions on getting tickets besides making sure you call @ 9:00 am sharp?

    1. I always have bought my tickets online. I would recommend trying that this year.

    2. I didn't know you could buy them on-line! Thanks so much. Do you use the Philadelphiaphilles.com site?

    3. Yes - it has always been available on Phillies.com in the past (hopefully that will be true again this year)

  2. I have a 8 ft. x 4ft. banner of Chase Utley that was hanging at Citzens Bank Park years ago. It was an ad for Goosebumps. For years I've wanted to get it signed by Chase but believe he doesn't do many autographs. This event might be my only chance. It's a really cool item. Paid a lot for it. Bought it from a memorabilia store in Pottstown (simplyawesome).

    1. This would be a great chance to get his autograph - as long as he's not rehabbing in Florida, Arizona, or somewhere else. I have got him there in the past, and agree it is probably your current best bet

    2. Chase Utley has signed for me at games twice and is one of the best about signing at games, just FYI

    3. That is great, and good advice for anyone who 'graphs on the rails. I consider myself retired at this time...but, am looking forward to my three year-old picking up the torch!

  3. Is this worth traveling from St. Louis to attend!? I wouldn't want to leave without Halladay, Lee, and Victorino.

    1. Long way to come, and there is no guarantee that you'll be able to get any of those guys - but, I can tell you that it is possible to get multiple stars. Last year I got Lee, Howard and Hamels (amongst other second tier players). Halladay hasn't participated in a signing booth during his first two seasons - it will be interesting to see where he is scheduled to be this year.

  4. You can get as many stars as you want you just have to have a good strategy on how you are going to attack the phestival. If you go, bring 2 to 4 people. That way you would get up to 8 booths for autos. Also they give u a map to show where all the players will be during the event. My first year I got Howard, Victorino, Utley, Ruiz, Signed picture with Holladay, Signed Line up card and picture with Charlie among other things. Last year I got ibanez brown lidge madson old dirty bastardo, picture with Charlie and the world series trophy. I also traded my howard and Victorino auto booths cause I had them the previous year. People will be willing to trade booths with you for different players. They also have really cool grab bags there for 20 bucks. Last year we got the holy grail. Roy Halladay Auto baseball. MLB certified and everything. It is an awesome event so if you can get tickets go. My guess for holladay would be he will be in a photo booth again, so you cant get anything signed by him, he just signs the photo. he has an exclusive contract with steiner sports to sign jerseys baseballs and stuff. Just guessing cause he was in the photo booth the past two years. Good Luck to you

    1. You've had some pretty good luck. I agree, having more than one person "on your side" is a help in collecting more autographs over the course of the night. Grab bags are a great opportunity to get some good merchandise - that was an awesome pull for you last year. Gives me hope that they DO put stuff like that in there!

  7. Don't know yet. The Phillies do not announce the booths until the day of the event. The roster may still change between now and the 26th. Stay tuned...
